About this Project

Sudhir Venkatesh, author of Gang Leader for a Day and a contributor to the Freakonomics blog, is a professor of sociology and director of the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy (ISERP) at Columbia University.

With increasing media exposure from his books and the Freakonomics blog, we pitched Sudhir on the idea of having a unified web destination for his writings, research, and films. SudhirVenkatesh.org serves as the go-to resource for all of Sudhir's work and also includes an archive of press mentions and television/radio appearances.
