Peter is co-founder and Creative Director at Barrel, an independent creative and digital marketing agency in New York City. Peter advises clients on user experience, digital marketing, and business strategy and oversees the Growth Marketing team, which provides SEO, paid, and social media marketing services for Barrel’s clients.
Since 2006, he has worked with startups, Fortune 500 businesses, charitable nonprofit organizations, and academic institutions to deliver branding, digital marketing, and digital platform solutions. His clients past and present include Columbia University, NETGEAR, Scholastic, the National Football League, McGraw-Hill Education, Well+Good, Peach & Lily, Jacob’s Pillow Dance, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
Prior to Barrel, Peter worked on Wall Street as an investment banker on large asset-backed securities deals. He graduated from Columbia University with a BA in History and Film Studies. He also worked as an intern at the National Football League during college and was the project lead for the league office’s intranet portal website, coordinating the efforts between HR and IT.
Peter also writes about running a business and building good habits on his personal website (www.peterkang.com) and is co-founder of Grove Ave (www.groveave.co), a personal development company that publishes content and offers products to help people grow both personally and professionally. In his free time, Peter likes to read, write, run, and play basketball. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Melanie.
