Creating a Cohesive Multi-Brand Experience for McCormick Through User Testing

McCormick’s brand portfolio includes household names like Zatarain’s, Frank’s RedHot, Lawry’s, Cholula, and more—each with its own identity and audience. To bring these brands together in a cohesive digital ecosystem, we partnered with McCormick to design and test a new multi-brand experience on Shopify.

We used Helio to gather real-time feedback on early wireframes and high-fidelity design concepts. The goal was to understand how users navigated between brands, interpreted content hierarchy, and engaged with homepage layouts that blended storytelling with commerce.

Across tests, we found that brand recognition and clarity were critical for users. A strong, consistent brand selector helped users understand the relationship between McCormick and its sub-brands, while visually distinct layouts kept users oriented and curious to explore each brand.
