‍The Role

‍We’re seeking a Freelance Graphic Designer to collaborate with our team in leading and executing digital-focused projects. This role would be on an ongoing, retainer basis. Projects include e-commerce experiences, omnichannel design, extending visual guidelines to new assets, and research and applying ecommerce best practices to all designs.

As a graphic designer at Barrel, you carry the responsibility to not only ideate and execute on creative and intelligent design concepts but to lead by example, motivate other team members, and therefore, reach the highest standards of work. We are looking for someone who is a creative problem solver who combines visual design and product design, knowing how to build appealing and functional experiences.

For Barrel, design is the process of thinking, planning, and imagining products that effectively solve problems for our clients. In addition to creating compelling visuals, our design team plays a key part in crafting intuitive user experiences through wireframing, mapping user flows and navigation, and developing micro-interactions.

_{The Role}

- 4+ years of agency experience with demonstrated expertise in digital design preferred

- Experience with email design or marketplace design (including Amazon, Walmart, and other online marketplaces) is a plus

- Strong proficiency with industry standard design tools such as Figma and AI tools like Claude, along with a deep understanding of responsive, user-centered web design

- Strong knowledge of digital and web best practices, with the ability to confidently explain design decisions, platform capabilities, and implementation considerations to clients

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple projects, deadlines, budgets, and priorities

- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with confidence communicating with both clients and cross-functional teams

- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high quality work

- Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage workload and work effectively in a remote environment

- Proactive problem solver who anticipates challenges, plans ahead, and keeps projects on track
